Cancellation by you

If you unfortunately need to cancel your booking, you will need to notify us in writing, by email to matt@gobikego.co.uk.

Your cancellation will be considered effective from the date the notice is received. Depending on how close it is to your ride, you may be liable for a cancellation charge as set out below:

Deposit –  If you have paid a deposit, this is non-refundable. 

Cancellation 31 – 60 days or more before departure – 50% of total price to be held by GoBikeGo

Cancellation 30 days or less before departure -100% of total price will be held by GoBikeGo


It is essential you take out appropriate insurance cover at the time of booking.  We strongly recommend you purchase cancellation insurance to protect yourself from unexpected circumstances that may cause you to cancel your trip.

Cancellation by GoBikeGo

On rare occasions, it may be necessary to cancel a confirmed ride or rip. GoBikeGo must reserve the right to do so for any reason determined at our sole discretion, including if there are too few participants or if we judge the safety of the trip to be compromised.

In such a case, GoBikeGo will offer you an alternative trip (if available) or a refund of payments received by GoBikeGo as a full and final settlement.

In the event of cancellation, GoBikeGo is not responsible for any loss incurred on account of non-refundable or non-transferable air tickets or other unrecoverable travel costs.

GoBikeGo reserve the right to cancel your booking 6 weeks before your trip start date if we have not received the invoiced funds payable.

Very rarely, we may be forced to curtail your holiday after the date of departure where circumstances amounting to “force majeure” as described below. In this very unusual situation, we regret we cannot make any refunds (except where refunds are obtained from any supplier), meet any costs or expenses you may incur as a result or pay any compensation.

Force majeure

We regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by “force majeure.” In these booking conditions “force majeure” means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.

Challenge Participation and Responsibility

Our Trips may involve hazards which are inherent to the activities involved in it. These inherent hazards increase the risk to participants of personal injury, death, illness, and/or loss or damage to property. By making your booking with GoBikeGo you acknowledge and accept the inherent hazards involved in the Trip. Except as set out in this Agreement, GoBikeGo cannot accept any liability for any personal injury, death, illness, loss or damage to property or any other loss or damage you incur as a result of your participation in the Trip. Any safety equipment supplied must be worn correctly at all times. Your cycling helmet should be worn at all times when you are cycling.

What are your responsibilities?

Your booking is accepted on the understanding that you accept:

the risks and hazards of such a holiday, including the dangers inherent in road cycling, the dangers of foreign travel and any risks that result from (amongst other things) changes of local politics, adverse weather conditions, the poor condition of the highways, border restrictions, terrorism and disease
the potential for (amongst other things) delays, alterations, loss or damage to property, inconvenience and discomfort.
You must ensure that all information you give GoBikeGo, on the GoBikeGo registration form, insurance forms and medical questionnaire is complete, true and accurate. If you fail to do so, GoBikeGo shall be entitled to cancel your booking and GoBikeGo shall be entitled to keep the deposit you have paid. Depending on the date when GoBikeGo discover that you have failed to comply with the provisions of this clause GoBikeGo will also be entitled to charge the cancellation fees set out in cancellations.

You must not do anything, or fail to do anything, which is reasonably likely to bring GoBikeGo into disrepute whether before, during or after the Trip.

When will the booking be confirmed?

Once GoBikeGo has received your registration and medical questionnaire and all appropriate deposits/payments, GoBikeGo will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by issuing a booking confirmation. Please check this carefully as soon as you receive it. You must contact GoBikeGo immediately if any information which appears on the confirmation or any other document appears to be incorrect or incomplete as it may not be possible to make changes later.

When does my contract for the Trip come into existence?

A binding contract between you and GoBikeGo comes into existence when GoBikeGo despatches its confirmation to you. You agree that English law (and no other) will apply to your contract and to any dispute, claim or other matter of any description which arises between you and GoBikeGo except as set out below. You also agree that any claim (whether or not involving any personal injury) must be dealt with by the Courts of England and Wales only to the exclusion of all other courts unless, in the case of Court proceedings, you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland. In this case, proceedings must either be brought in the Courts of your home country or those of England and Wales. If proceedings are brought in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may choose to have your contract and any claim governed by the law of Scotland/Northern Ireland as applicable (but if you do not so choose, English law will apply).

Your booking

There is a need to be flexible in a holiday of this kind. The day to day agenda and ultimate aim of our tours are taken as an objective and not a contract. It is a condition of booking that you accept this flexibility, and acknowledge that delays and alterations and their subsequent results, such as inconvenience, discomfort, or disappointment, are possible.

Please note that flights and other products you purchase separately do not form part of the Trip cost with us.

Travel arrangements to meet or on leaving our Trips are your responsibility. Any guidance we may provide is simply that and must be checked by you.

Our responsibility does not commence until the appointed time at the designated meeting point. If you fail to arrive there at the appointed time for whatever reason, we will not be responsible for any additional expenses incurred by you to meet up with the group.

No refund or compensation will be made or given for any unused hotel accommodation, services or features of the holiday where unused at your discretion or as a result of your action/inaction.

If there is a significant change to essential terms of your Trip after booking, but before your departure date, we will notify you of these changes as soon as possible. If you are not satisfied with these changes we will work with you to find a practical alternative. If you are not satisfied with the alternatives we can provide you will be entitled to cancel your booking without penalty and any money paid for services provided by the Company will be refunded. No refund will be offered for services not booking with the Company e.g travel costs.

What about Minimum Numbers?

Please note that each Trip has a minimum number of participants required for its operation. As a result GoBikeGo reserves the right to cancel a specific departure due to insufficient numbers up to 2 months prior to departure. In these circumstances, GoBikeGo will endeavour to operate the trip although this may require earlier settlement and/or an increase in the Trip Cost. If we are unable to operate the trip or increased Trip Cost are not acceptable, you will be offered a refund.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance, including cover for baggage, is mandatory for all clients whilst on an overseas trip. Subject to these booking conditions and other than liability arising from negligence in respect of death or personal injury caused by GBG or its staff, you travel, together with your personal property including baggage, solely at your own risk at all times. You are wholly responsible for arranging your own insurance and if you join the Trip without adequate insurance you may not be permitted to continue, with no right of refund.

You agree to have adequate private travel insurance, with protection for the full duration of the trip in respect of at least medical expenses, injury, death, repatriation, cancellation and curtailment forming a contract with GoBikeGo. If you make your own arrangements you should ensure that there are no exclusion clauses limiting protection for the type of activities included in the trip. You are responsible for providing details of this cover to GoBikeGo.

Any claims concerning matters for which you are required to be or are insured must be directed to your insurers. You will be deemed to have read the insurance cover. All participants are personally responsible for informing insurance companies of any pre-existing conditions.


Clients taking their own equipment, including a bike, on a trip are responsible for any charges for transportation levied by the airline including excess baggage and should ensure that they have adequate insurance cover.  An undamaged, fastened cycle helmet is compulsory whilst cycling.

Do you require Medical Details?

GoBikeGo requires a completed medical questionnaire from each participant. If you are aged over 60 years of age, are a person with reduced mobility or if you have any medical condition that could be adversely affected by exercise, particularly a heart condition or asthma, or if you have a BMI of 35 or more, you must provide GoBikeGo with a signed medical questionnaire and further information as necessary from your doctor. GoBikeGo reserve the right to refuse you entry on to the Trip if deemed necessary.


You are responsible for arranging, and must be in possession of, a valid passport

Registration Form

Signing your registration form signifies your agreement to abide by and accept the authority and decisions of our employees, leaders who represent GoBikeGo. If in the opinion of our employees, the leader, your behaviour or physical condition is detrimental to the safety, welfare and well-being of the group as a whole or that your general well-being will be put at risk at any time before or during a trip, you may be excluded from all or part of the trip without refund or recompense. The decision of the leader during the trip as to the conduct, itinerary and objectives of the trip is final.

Transport to start and from finish

All transfers to the start, and from the finish are your responsibility.

Foreign Office Advice The Foreign and Commonwealth Office publishes regularly updated travel information on its website www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice which you are recommended to consult before booking and in good time before departure.

Rules and Regulations

All riders must be 18 years or over on the start date of the event.

Approved safety cycling helmets must be worn for the full duration of the event and by all riders.

If for reasons of safety or the smooth running of the event you are requested to ride in the Support Vehicle for a time, you must comply. Not doing so could result in disqualification from the tour.  Riders will follow group riding etiquette at all times and not endanger themselves or their fellow riders. Riders must seek medical advice if they are unsure about their fitness or have health concerns. It is the responsibility of the rider that they are fit at the start of the event or training ride.
Riders must inform the Ride Managers or Support Team if they feel unwell.  Only road or hybrid bikes are permitted for Just Pedal events. Bikes must be in safe working order for the start of the event.  Riders may not deviate from the official route and must obey the local traffic regulations, and traffic officers.  Riders may not use mobile phones MP3 players/iPods while riding. Riders agree to abide by the Bye-Laws and Technical Regulations of British Cycling.
