Distance: 72km – 45 miles
Climbing: 971m – 3185ft
Duration: 1 day
Start/finish location: National Trust Denbies Hillside Car Park, Ranmore Common Rd, Dorking RH5 6SR
Date: Monday 13th April 2020 (Easter Monday)
Our Easter Monday ride run in partnership with DVNT Bike Co, will take in some of the Surrey Hills classics – notably Leith Hill, Barhatch, Combe Lane and Crocknorth. It’s not the longest route, but it’s short, sharp and steep – climbing over 3000ft in 45 miles.
We’ll start off with a descent into Dorking, then head up and over Leith Hill to warm up your climbing legs. For the next 25 miles, we’ll be covering the miles on some of Surrey’s best country roads before finishing up with a triple whammy of climbs up Barhatch, Combe Lane and Crocknorth before rolling back to Ranmore Common.
The highlight of the ride is Barhatch with a maximum gradient of 21% – so come prepared for an egg-celent day out!
This is a fairly challenging, group social ride with mobile support and experienced ride leaders.
